Final Fantasy VII

Casual Cowards 10 – Final Fantasy VII

Episode 10 – Spoiler Alert: Aeris dies!

We would like to ask everyone reading this to stop right now and go buy Final Fantasy VII.  No bullshit, here is a link. We’ll wait… until you finish the game.  Done?  Good; we’re glad to have you back.  Now you’ve experienced one of the earliest and finest examples of a video game taking you on an emotional ride.  And now that we’re all on the same page, we’re happy to bring you our Final Fantasy VII episode!  This game is epic in scope; it’s got an ensemble cast of unique characters that we fell in love with; and did I mention the turn based battle system? It’s a lost art and we sorely miss it!

This time we brought back our good friend, Ryan the Lou, to help us keep the wheels from coming off.  Thankfully, he has a working router and mic now! We were happy to have him back (Episode 2 was a learning experience).  We’re not Call of Duty or Battlefield fans, so there wasn’t much on our gaming radar this week.  Rian got to terrorize the high seas in Assassin’s Creed IV, though! And Dirk is pissed because the Batman: Arkham Origins release was riddled with bugs and his mic stand won’t stay in the upright position.  First World problems, am I right?  Lou is working on an iOS football game slotted for the Year of the Sheep, and Square-Enix’s new battle system can still suck it.  The flying Yoshi is still blue and we hope you enjoy our longest, most rambling episode of the Casual Cowards of Gaming.
